Being born into a second generation christian family in a multi cultural and religious atmosphere my thoughts manifested into philosophical inquiries about my life. The aspect of living in a culture (multi) with beliefs that were introduced by Europeans was a challenging part to my entire life and existence which questions every act I perform consciously or otherwise. The element of red thread is intended to evoke a sense of space which has  demarcative forces and associated values as dogmas. This can be viewed as those pertaining to the aspects of spacial dynamics and as values in a Hindu ritual in India. These ritualistic performances became a part of me existing as memories which instilled a sense of cultural value to which I was a witness. Thus a whole gamute of religions, customs, rituals and belief systems are brought into play in this installation. December 7 th to 14 th, 2009 'Devolution #3', Live Performance, Faculty of Fine Arts, M S University, Baroda. Duration: 20 min. Devolution # 3 examines and attempts to conceptualise the idea of consciousness about our life in general. Science, technology, religion and philosophy are identified as elements affecting the process of evolution. I believe that this process of evolution sometimes needs a force that could allow us either to enhance it or to resist it to analyse and realise its potential to generate some meta-narratives within this process. Faculty Students participated (responded positively for which I am thankful to) in this collective project by contributing their ideas of our 21st century human race. Reflection tags were tied to the project as comments, reactions and responses to reinforce the good thoughts and intentions.
